It’s day one of our March is Reading Month Challenge! If you’re joining in with us, today is “Read across America” and you can share a picture of you in red, white and blue today. I would also love to see some of your favorite American authors or books based in the United States. If you want to see the calendar for this month check it out here. I hope everyone follows along.
To be honest, I don’t have a favorite author from the United States. I go through periods when I’m obsessed with a certain author for a while and try to read everything I can by them. For example: I went to Barnes and Noble one day and bought only John Green books, I left with only three books that day but let’s be honest, books can sometimes be costly. I’m currently hooked on The Network Series by Katie Cross. I highly recommend this series, my emotions were on a roller coaster. I can’t even tell you how many times I cried over the last two books in this series, it get’s intense but it’s worth it. Like many others, I absolutely loved the Hunger Games; it took me a while to finally read the series but once I started, I fell in love.
I am currently reading The Next by Stephanie Ganji. In the beginning things were interesting, the main character is this older woman who has cancer and she is a bit obsessed with her younger, ex boyfriend. On her death bed she is stalking him online, I already knew there was going to be no moving on for her. For me, things have slowed down after her death. Some of her revenge has been interesting, it’s pretty cool what her ghost is able to do; but it’s been a struggle to pick up the book again.
If none of these authors interest you I looked up the Most Popular Books in 2018 on GoodReads. Their top three are:
- Educated by Tara Westover (According to GoodReads she is currently living in the UK but is from Idaho.)
- The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn (Daniel Mallory)
- The Great Along by Kristin Hannah
What are you reading?
