*Review*

I really enjoyed reading this fast-paced novel.
L.P. Dover tells a wonderful story in less than 300 pages, perfect for anyone looking for a shorter fae read that packs a lot in!

Ella and Kai are great together. I love how she never gave up on him, even with his hands around her throat.
I was a bit confused with their ages. I know they are fae and that changes things a bit, but I kept picturing Kai as this 46 year old fae/man (something about 21 and 25 so I kept wanting to add those numbers together) which threw me off because he acted like he was in his early twenties. I know it’s how my brain works, but I could not get over it!

I get so excited when authors add maps and family trees to their work. It’s the extra thought, the little bit of extra love, that really sets them apart. Honestly, it’s pretty much its own star.

There is a fair amount of spice in the book, but it’s not overly detailed and drawn out. Each encounter is virtually the same. Some variety would have been nice, but it’s not a big deal.
If spice isn’t your thing, you can easily gloss over those passages without missing the storyline.

I have mixed feelings with the way it ended! I was so glad it leaned one way, then felt cheated when it swerved the other way. Not cool! 😅

I look forward to reading other work by Dover!

I rated Winter of the Shadow Fae four stars.
