He’s a cold-blooded killer, devilishly hot and wildly dangerous.
Most people would tell me I’m crazy. Most people would call him a monster and tell me to run. But in the broken world I live in, that’s the only sort of man I want.
When he found me in a puddle of blood, at the mercy of my mobster husband’s thugs, I was ready to die. I just looked at him with empty eyes, giving him permission to keep walking and never glance back. But instead, he told me to look away and then took care of business. My nails dug into his steel-hard arms as he carried me to his car and declared I was now his.
Of course I knew who my dark knight was.
Andrei f$$$ing Kowtisch.
Feared assassin. Merciless beast. A man who fights fire with fire.
I guess that means it’s payback time, because nobody touches Andrei’s property. Unless you’re the most dangerous mobster on the East Coast who swore to get me back no matter the cost . . .
*Review*
Oh, I have no idea where to start with this review for The Beast…
This is the third book in the Fixer Upper series, but can be read as a standalone. There are some cross-over references, but the other books do not need to be read in order to follow along with The Beast.
I thought Elise & Andrei were cute together. The “touch her and you die” trope is one of my favorites. I loved that he tried fighting his feelings for her as much as he possibly could, the turmoil inside him was strong.
Elise starts off as a strong female character, while not necessarily badass, she’s strong. She puts her faith and trust in this man she just met to save her, and in the process saves him as well. She got so weak and dependent on Andrei though. If you’re going to write a strong female character, keep her strong, having week moments is find but don’t let her become even more of a damsel in distress by the end of the book.
The spicy scenes ramped up towards the end of the book.
Their close proximity pushed them together, even though Andrei tried keeping them apart. I was afraid those scenes would be cringy, due to the fact the author used words like titties, boner, and hot. I have no reference on age for these characters, but I’m pretty sure its not in their teens or early twenties. Another word that the author used, that I had to look up by the way, was turgid. This is an unsexy word with an even more unsexy definition.
Another thing that threw me off of the romance was the fact that they had unprotected sex, constantly. There is no discussion of it at all and then when they finally get pregnant – because duh – Andrei goes “I thought you couldn’t get pregnant.” It was just glossed over and seemed like an after thought to make it okay.
I’m trying to come to terms with the title. While I love the title and the cover art, he (Andrei) was called The Eagle.. so yeah.
I liked the suspense. Its dark and enticing.
I loved Andrei’s morally grey-ness. He’s on the run for basically being this badass that only assassinates people that are BAD. Sex traffickers, drug dealers, etc. He knew what he had done made him a “monster” so he tried rectifying that with his deeds. This actually comes to bite him in the ass later in the book.

I rated The Beast three stars.
About Denise Daye:

Denise is an Amazon best-selling author who graduated with a master’s in Social Work from an ivy league school, the University of Pennsylvania. She has spent many years of her life supporting families and individuals in need of assistance. She has always had a passion for reading and writing, especially steamy romance, but it wasn’t until her own baby boy was born that Denise turned her passion into her profession. Whenever Denise is not typing away on one of her books, you can find her caring for her son (a.k.a. one of the toughest jobs in the world), binging Netflix with her beloved husband, or chasing after her puppy (who should technically be an adult dog by now).
